Patsy Cline House

I was out visiting some Harley dealerships in the Northern Virginia area. I visited three Harley dealers. But, the highpoint was the Patsy Cline House in Winchester, VA.

As I pulled up, there was a group starting a tour. I asked one of the people if they could take my picture. A lady came over, I showed her how to focus, zoom, and take the picture. She took two pictures,. I thanked her, we looked at the pictures, and I was on my way.

I stopped at the Winchester Harley Davidson, Bull Run Harley Davidson, and Patriot Harley Davidson. I got the pictures for the Harley dealership challenge and the check-in for two other Harley challenges.

Went to swim class with the grand sons, then fajitas for supper with the family.

Spent most of the day at either Harley shops or at Tour of Honor sites. I did manage to get to the Country Music Museum in Bristol, TN. It took two photos to meet the requirements.

The picture above is the Birthplace of Country Music Museum in Bristol. Easy to find, but challenging to get the bike and the sign in the same picture. The bike can vaguely be seen in the right side behind the “Do Not Enter” sign.

This picture has a cleared picture of the bike. Sun was starting to set and a lot of shadows between the buildings didn’t give the best lighting.

After not hearing back from the scorers on the resubmission, I was preparing for them to reject it a second time. I had also realized that I had listed Bristol as being in TN. Though Bristol is in TN, the museum is in the VA part of Bristol!

I headed back this morning on my way back home to Alabama to get another picture.

I started the day a little later than expected or planned. In addition to a some Tour of Honor sites, I managed to visit some Cddiwomple sites.

First was the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale. This is site 32 of Appendix M for this year’s Coddiwomple.

While in Clarksdale, I visited the Crossroads. This is where legend states that Robert Johnson sold his soul to the Devil to be able to play the guitar. This is site 30 of Appendix M.

I turned the camera around and took a picture of Abe’s BBQ. Maybe this was where Robert Johnson and the Devil negotiated “The Deal”?

I made a stop in Cleveland, MS, but was soon on to Indianola. I had used this town (Indianola) last year for the Memorial at the Police Station. This year, I stopped at the BB King Museum. Not only is this a museum about the life of BB King, he is buried in the courtyard. At the BB King Museum, the goal was to get a picture of his guitar. This is site 31 of Appendix M.

Muscle Shoals Sound Studio

Muscle Shoals Sound Studio. Cher recorded her first record here, and the cover photo was taken in front of the sound studio.

The Rolling Stones recorded here. When you come to town, get a tour of this place! It is awesome! David Hood’s wife led the tour that we were on a few years ago, and several of The Swampers were at the studio.

Muscle Shoals Sound is in Sheffield. Florence Alabama Music Enterprises (better known as FAME Studios) is in Muscle Shoals. In the quad cities there are many recording studios with long histories. And most are still being used today.
